Seiko introducing the new series of slim dress watches King Seiko KS1969, inspired by a classic King Seiko from the late ’60s. All details, live pictures and prices below.
The new King Seiko series is inspired by the 1969 King Seiko 45KCM watch but has been reimagined for modern times with rounded, box-shaped glass. Thanks to the slimline Caliber 6L35, the watches achieve a sleek and comfortable thickness of 9.9mm. With a diameter of 39.4mm and a lug-to-lug measurement of 42.9mm, these dimensions ensure the watch is very comfortable on the wrist.
The multi-faceted index at twelve o’clock is designed with a pattern that evokes the feather fletching of an arrow, a feature familiar from traditional Japanese archery and a fitting detail for a watch that will glide under shirtsleeves. The hour and minute hands are cut on three sides, and they mark the time with a powerful radiance and a certainty toward the future.
The new series is offered with silver, purple, and green dials. Inside is the slimline Caliber 6L35 which has a power reserve of 45 hours. The watches feature a new multi-row bracelet with mirror-polishing and brushed finishing.
King Seiko KS1969 Uroko-mon, 100th Anniversary Limited Edition
In addition to the main collection, Seiko also presented a limited edition King Seiko KS1969 Uroko-mon, commemorating Seiko’s 100th anniversary. This watch has the same specifications as the three creations joining the main King Seiko collection but features a light greenish-blue dial with a textured pattern inspired by a rising dragon, which serves as a metaphor for the Seiko brand progressing toward the next 100 years. The dragon is also the animal sign for 2024 in the Japanese zodiac, which remains a part of the country’s culture. The King Seiko KS1969 Uroko-mon (SJE115J1) is limited to 700 pieces.
The new King Seiko will be available from July at the price of €3,200 (including VAT).
