Audemars Piguet introduces two new Code 11.59 references in stainless steel: a Selfwinding model and a Chronograph. Both feature slate grey dials, enhanced by contrasting details in the iconic “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” hue. Details, live pictures and prices are below.

The two new Code 11.59 models, crafted entirely from stainless steel with a 41 mm diameter, showcase the Manufacture’s signature alternation of polished and satin-brushed finishes. The case thickness is 10.7 mm for the Selfwinding model and 12.6 mm for the Chronograph. Both models offer a water resistance of 30 meters.

The slate grey dials are contrasted by “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” accents on the inner bezel and the Chronograph’s counters. They feature AP’s signature embossed pattern, created by AP design teams in collaboration with Swiss guilloché artisan Yann von Kaenel. Engraved by hand, the base dies used to stamp the dials feature a pattern of concentric circles like ripples on the surface of water. These circles are adorned with hundreds of tiny holes that play with the light. The dials are then pigmented using a galvanic process to preserve and enhance their subtle contours. On the chronograph version, the counters feature the “Bleu Nuit, Nuage 50” colour obtained using PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) and are encircled by a rhodium galvanic thread. The pattern’s myriad of details is enhanced by the double-curved sapphire crystal developed specially for the Code 11.59.

These new references are complemented by elongated, facetted, polished hour-markers and hour and minute hands in 18-carat white gold, filled with luminescent material for optimum readability in the dark. A grey textured rubber strap with calfskin lining completes the design.

The Selfwinding model is powered by Calibre 4302, which drives the hours, minutes, seconds, and date display with a 70-hour power reserve.

The Chronograph variant houses Calibre 4401, an integrated selfwinding chronograph featuring a column wheel and flyback function, also offering a 70-hour power reserve. It incorporates a vertical clutch system to prevent hand jumps when starting or stopping the chronograph, while a patented reset mechanism ensures that each counter hand returns precisely to its original position.

Both movements are equipped with a patented mechanism that enhances stability and precision when setting the watch. Through the sapphire caseback, the 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight is visible, along with exquisite Haute Horlogerie decorations of the movements, including polished bevels, vertical satin-brushing, Côtes de Genève, circular graining, and chamfering.

The price of the Code 11.59 Selfwinding is € 25,800 (including VAT), while the Chronograph costs € 35,600.
