Omega added 2 new models in Moonshine Gold to the Speedmaster Moonwatch collection. All the details below.
The Speedmaster Moonwatch is one of the world’s most iconic timepieces, this watch needs no introduction. Everyone somehow knows something about Speedmaster. Till March of 2022 Speedmaster Moonwatch collection had models in steel, Sedna Gold and Canopus Gold. But then Omega added two new models in Moonshine gold. Gold watches are getting come back in recent years. It’s not anymore a sign of bad taste or sign of showing off, ok, in some cases it’s still, but if the brand and the model is right, then you have nothing to worry about. Тhe trend is especially leaning towards combining gold cases with a rubber strap, think of Rolex Daytona Everose-Gold. With the release of the new Speedmaster Moonwatch in Moonshine gold Omega also follows this trend.
One model features the Moonshine Gold dial, black ceramic bezel ring and blackened subdials and indexes. Omega is offering the watch on a polished and brushed 18K Moonshine Gold bracelet, or integrated black rubber strap with lunar surface texture on the back and 18K Moonshine Gold foldover clasp. The latter version is especially attractive and will be probably a best seller.
Another model comes with a PVD green coated dial and a green ceramic bezel ring, also on a 18K Moonshine Gold bracelet or a leather strap.
All these new models are equipped with the OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861, a manual-winding chronograph with power reserve of 50 hours.
What is OMEGA Moonshine Gold?
In 2019 Omega created exclusive Moonshine Gold that is based on 18K yellow gold. OMEGA’s 18K Moonshine Gold offers a distinctive paler hue than traditional 18K yellow gold and high resistance to the fading of colour and lustre over time. This alloy consists of 75% yellow gold, 14.5% silver, 9% copper and 1% palladium.
