Ralph Lauren has expanded The American Western Watch Collection with a new turquoise dial version housed in a sterling silver cushion case. I had the chance to see this model in person — and it’s one of those watches that immediately stands out for its character. It feels both refined and rugged, a balance that perfectly captures the idea of the American West through Ralph Lauren’s eyes.

The cushion-shaped case measures 42 mm in diameter and about 10.6 mm thick, made from antiqued sterling silverwith hand-engraved details that give each piece its own personality. The patina and engraving work feel genuinely artisanal rather than over-polished — the kind of imperfections that make the watch more compelling the longer you look at it.

The turquoise dial is easily the centerpiece. Its vivid tone and subtle texture evoke the spirit of traditional Southwestern jewelry, a clear nod to the Native American craftsmanship that has long influenced Ralph Lauren’s aesthetic. Paired with Breguet-style hands and a mix of Roman and Arabic numerals, it has a vintage presence that still feels unmistakably Ralph Lauren.

Powering the watch is the automatic calibre RL514, made by Piaget exclusively for Ralph Lauren. It’s a reliable Swiss movement with a 40-hour power reserve, visible only to those who know it’s there — the focus here is very much on the design, materials and craftsmanship.

The hand-tooled leather strap, crafted in Texas and burnished in Italy, completes the story. It ties the whole concept together — a piece that feels both globally refined and regionally rooted.
Seeing it up close, the silver turquoise combination feels genuinely unique. It’s not trying to be flashy or trendy; instead, it celebrates texture, material, and heritage. For anyone who appreciates authenticity and craftsmanship, this might be one of Ralph Lauren’s most interesting releases yet.

The watch isn’t a limited edition, but rather a limited production piece — the result of extensive handcrafting. Price: €31,000.
