Bulgari presented the new Octo Roma Automatic

Bulgari Octo Roma Automatic with a grey dial

Bulgari has unveiled its latest contemporary collection, Octo Roma. Recently, I had the opportunity to see these watches in person in Geneva and I am now excited to share my impressions, all the technical details and live photos here.

Bulgari Octo Roma

The Octo Finissimo watches are well-known and respected among watch collectors and enthusiasts, and have already achieved iconic status in modern watchmaking. Although they are considered sports watches, they are more delicate, very thin and come at a higher price point. Therefore, introducing the Octo Roma collection was a logical move for Bulgari, allowing them to close the niche for more affordable everyday sports watches. The new Octo Roma watches are modern, stylish and reasonably priced, with convenient features. The collection includes the Octo Roma Automatic, Octo Roma Chronograph, and a more complicated version featuring a tourbillon.

In this post, I’m showing you the three-hand version of the Octo Roma Automatic, presented in a 41mm stainless steel case. The watch is available in three color variations – blue, anthracite, and white. All three dials feature a beautiful and sophisticated Clous de Paris motif. The watch is water-resistant up to 100m.

One of the most interesting features of the new Octo Roma watches is the convenient tool-free interchangeable wristband system, offering the freedom to switch looks whenever desired. Bulgari will deliver two wristbands at the time of purchase: a stainless-steel bracelet and a rubber strap. Additional straps made of rubber and alligator leather in various colors can be purchased separately. The strap-changing system works perfectly, and it seems to me to be one of the simplest and most convenient systems I have seen recently. After playing around with different straps, I chose my favorite – the model with an anthracite dial on a matching rubber strap. However, the version with a white dial on green or red straps also looks interesting.

Bulgari Octo Roma Automatic watches are equipped with the in-house automatic caliber BVL 191, which has a power reserve of 42 hours.
