Finally, IWC has added a blue dial to the Ingenieur Automatic 40 line. Find all the details, live pictures, and prices below.
In 2023, IWC relaunched the Ingenieur Automatic 40 line with black, silver-plated, and aqua dials, as well as a titanium version featuring a grey dial. However, one key version was missing—the most classic, most desirable, and most beloved: the steel model with a blue dial. An integrated sports watch in a steel case with a blue dial remains, without a doubt, the hottest and most popular combination in the world. Some may call it hype, but it’s much more than that. It’s a timeless pairing, suitable for virtually any occasion, with an iconic status in the watch world—a design originally inspired by the legendary Gérald Genta.
Knowing the significance of this particular combination and its potential for strong sales, IWC held back this release for quite some time—a rather interesting move. But now that it’s finally here, this watch undoubtedly deserves a lot of appreciation.
When the Ingenieur Automatic 40 was released in early 2023, I covered it in detail with plenty of live pictures, which you can find here. So, I won’t repeat all the details again, but instead, I’ll let you enjoy a few live shots of the new blue version. The shade of blue is truly stunning—rich, deep, and absolutely perfect.
Inside the Ingenieur Automatic 40 beats the IWC-manufactured 32111 automatic calibre, offering a power reserve of 5 days.
The new IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40 (Ref. IW328907) is priced at €12,900 (including VAT).
