Vacheron Constantin Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points

This year, Vacheron Constantin finally made a dream of many watch enthusiasts come true. The brand introduced the Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points in titanium, in four different versions.

Why was this such a big deal?

Let’s go back to 2019. Pictures appeared online of an Overseas Dual Time Prototype on the wrist of photographer and alpinist Cory Richards, who took the watch with him on his journey to Everest. A sporty Vacheron Constantin in titanium and tantalum, with bright orange details on the dial. The internet went crazy for it. Everyone wanted this watch. But it was just a prototype. There was no information about any plans to put something similar into the regular collection.

Then, in 2021, Vacheron Constantin introduced the limited Overseas Dual Time & Chronograph “Everest” editions, with a design very close to the original prototype. Only 150 pieces were made, and of course they disappeared very quickly.

So what was so special about this design?

We all know the Overseas Dual Time in its more familiar form. Steel case. Blue dial. Integrated bracelet. A sporty luxury watch in the classic formula for this type of watch. Almost a little boring, in a good way. Vacheron Constantin has also never been a brand that likes to move too far away from traditional design elements and precious metals or steel. And suddenly there was something different. Alternative materials. Bright orange details. A much more sporty and extreme look. Less traditional luxury and more adventure.

Over the years, here and there, I continued to hear enthusiasts talking about this watch. And about how great it would be if Vacheron Constantin actually put something like it into the permanent collection. Well, now it is here. At Watches & Wonders 2026, Vacheron Constantin introduced four new references of the Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points, all entirely crafted in titanium.

The case is 41 mm in diameter, and the watch is available with four different dial colours: white, brown, green and blue.

The dials feature a grained centre, combined with a circular satin finish and a lacquered outer seconds track. The orange details give the Overseas a completely different character and connect it visually to the Everest prototype and the 2021 limited editions.

Inside, behind the sapphire crystal caseback, is Vacheron Constantin’s manufacture self-winding calibre 5110 DT/3. It has two time zones. The local time is indicated in the usual way, while an orange arrow-tipped hand shows the home time. There is also a matching orange day/night indicator. The pointer-type date display sits at 6 o’clock and is synchronised with local time. It can be adjusted using a dedicated pusher. The two time zones at 12 o’clock can be adjusted by turning the crown in either direction.

The movement is also very pleasant to look at. The bridges have a dark grey NAC treatment that echoes the titanium case and gives the movement a more contemporary appearance. This contrasts nicely with more traditional elements, like the 22K 3N yellow-gold winding rotor with the signature Overseas compass rose. The visible bridges are decorated with Côtes de Genève, while the mainplate has perlage. The edges of the components are hand-bevelled and polished. I particularly like these details. They connect the very modern appearance of the watch with much more traditional watchmaking techniques underneath.

The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points comes on an integrated, interchangeable titanium bracelet with a three-blade folding clasp. It uses Vacheron Constantin’s Easy-fit system, which allows you to make quick adjustments without removing any links.

Two rubber straps are also included, each with an interchangeable titanium folding clasp. One is orange, with a texture inspired by the Maltese Cross. The other matches the colour of the dial. And, as with the bracelet, the straps can be changed in seconds without tools.

For Vacheron Constantin, this also feels like a win-win situation. The watch world finally gets the Overseas Dual Time that enthusiasts have been asking for for years. And not just one version, but four. At the same time, Vacheron Constantin gets a very commercially attractive product. One that, I suspect, will sell extremely well.

The Overseas Dual Time Cardinal Points is available exclusively through Vacheron Constantin boutiques worldwide. The retail price is €40,300 including VAT. After all these years, the prototype that created so much excitement finally has a successor that anyone can actually buy.
