Zenith novelties at LVMH Watch Week 2025

For the sixth time, the end of January marks on the watch industry calendar with LVMH Watch Week, where nine LVMH watchmaking Maisons showcase their latest creations. Among them are Bvlgari, Hublot, TAG Heuer, Zenith, Daniel Roth & Gérald Genta, Louis Vuitton, Tiffany & Co., and L’Epée 1839.

This year, LVMH Watch Week 2025 took place in New York and Paris, with additional local events worldwide. In Germany, Zenith’s fantastic PR team organized an event in Munich, perfectly timed with the launch of the new releases. This gave us the opportunity to get a first look at Zenith’s 2025 novelties—let’s dive in below.

Zenith Chronomaster Sport Rainbow

I appreciate it when brands don’t introduce too many new watches each year. In my view, the mechanical watch—marketed as an eternal object meant to be passed down through generations—doesn’t require constant updates or yearly releases. Of course, it’s often interesting to see new variations, but it’s not always necessary. Less is more. For LVMH Watch Week 2025, as in previous years, Zenith kept things simple with just a few new releases. This time, there were only two: the Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton and the Chronomaster Sport Rainbow.

Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton

At the 2025 LVMH Watch Week, Zenith presents a skeletonized version of the Defy Skyline Chronograph. The watch features a 42mm stainless steel case with an octagonal shape, a 12-facet bezel. The case has alternating brushed and polished surfaces and is water-resistant to 10 ATM. The open-worked dial, main plate, bridges, and star-shaped oscillating weight are available in black or blue, matching the overall color scheme. It includes an interchangeable-strap system that allows the wearer to switch between the integrated three-link steel bracelet and a star-patterned rubber strap by pressing a button on the back of the case.

I appreciate that Zenith chose not to include a date window on this watch, resulting in a cleaner and more streamlined design. This is one of the most common requests from watch enthusiasts, and it’s good to see that Zenith took this feedback into account.

This new version of the DEFY Skyline is powered by a skeletonized version of the calibre El Primero 3600. This caliber got the name El Primero 3600SK. The bi-directional automatic winding mechanism delivers a power reserve of approximately 60 hours.

The Calibre 3600 movement enables the display of 1/10th of a second with high precision. Operating at a frequency of 5Hz, or 10 vibrations per second, it allows for the measurement of extremely short time intervals. Unlike standard chronographs, its central seconds hand completes a full rotation in 10 seconds instead of 60, with each step precisely indicating 1/10th of a second against the chapter ring’s graduations.

The price of the new Zenith Defy Skyline Chronograph Skeleton is €15,900 (VAT included).

Zenith Chronomaster Sport Rainbow

Another new release from Zenith at LVMH Watch Week 2025 is the rainbow version of the Chronomaster Sport. Crafted from 18k white gold, this edition features a bezel set in a “Rainbow” style with 50 baguette-cut gemstones—40 sapphires (~3.9 cts) in a vibrant color gradient and 10 baguette-cut diamonds (~1 ct) marking 10-second intervals. Beneath the sapphire crystal, the lacquered dial showcases Zenith’s signature 3-6-9 tricolor overlapping counters, with markers also made of sapphires.

The Chronomaster Sport line is equipped with the automatic high-frequency El Primero 3600 chronograph calibre, operating at 5 Hz (36,000 vph) and capable of displaying 1/10th of a second. It offers a power reserve of 60 hours.
