Recently, Rado hosted a preview event of their 2024 novelties in Munich, which took place on the roof terrace of the newly opened Hotel Koenigshof, a Luxury Collection Hotel. Check out all the details with live photos below.
This year, Rado continues to focus on ceramic watches. Ceramic is presented in all possible colors. It’s hard to find such a variety of colors in ceramic cases from any other brand. But Rado has always been a master in this field, so it’s no surprise that they continue to experiment in this direction. The second area that Rado is intensively developing is skeletonized watches. There are more and more of them in all collections, and they look quite attractive. Although the brand is doing a good job overall, personally, I would like to see more of their watches with traditional dials, especially in the Captain Cook collection.
Among the several new Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton models, I would like to highlight two limited editions with yellow and orange bezels.
The polished navy blue high-tech ceramic monobloc case of the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton Limited Edition has a diameter of 43 mm and is topped by a polished navy blue high-tech ceramic rotatable bezel with a yellow ceramic insert. The watch is limited to 262 consecutively numbered pieces. The price is €5,000 (including VAT).
The watch is equipped with the R808 movement, featuring an 80-hour power reserve and an anti-magnetic Nivachron™ hairspring that has been fully tested in five positions.
Another limited edition of the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic Skeleton also features a polished navy blue high-tech ceramic monobloc case, topped by a polished navy blue high-tech ceramic rotatable bezel with a yellow ceramic insert. The watch is limited to 262 pieces, and the price is €5,000 (including VAT).
The Rado Anatom Automatic isn’t particularly new, but it just so happened that I hadn’t seen them in person until now. I really liked the watch, and it sits very comfortably on the wrist. The Anatom Automatic was originally introduced on a rubber strap. This year, a version with a ceramic bracelet will also be available (pictured below is the version with a black dial). Rado also brought the original version of the Anatom watch, first introduced in 1983, from their museum to this presentation. The price of the Anatom Automatic on a rubber strap is €3,700.
The Rado True Square Automatic Open Heart collection has introduced new bright and summery ceramic colors. For example, the turquoise high-tech ceramic case looks very striking. The price is €3,450.
There is also a version in yellow or blue ceramic on a rubber strap. The price is €2,750.
Hotel Koenigshof, a Luxury Collection Hotel, opened just a week before this Rado presentation, so we were among the first guests to experience this charming, stylish, and cozy terrace in the heart of Munich.
The terrace offers a view of central Munich, Karlsplatz Stachus. I had never seen Munich from above from this angle before.
