To celebrate its 150th anniversary, Audemars Piguet introduced the Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar Automatic 41mm in two variants, featuring an innovative movement that enables all perpetual calendar adjustments through a single crown—an impressive achievement in horology. Explore all the details, live images, and pricing below.

The first Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar model combines a stainless steel case and bracelet with a blue PVD Grande Tapisserie dial with matching subdials and inner bezel. The dial is enhanced by 18-carat white gold hands and hour-markers, all filled with luminescent material. White calendar indications on the inner bezel and subdials add the finishing touch.

The second Royal Oak Perpetual Calendar timepiece presents a contemporary monochrome aesthetic with unique light effects. The case and bracelet are crafted in 18-carat sand gold, a precious alloy combining gold with copper and palladium, introduced in the Royal Oak collection in 2024. Hovering between white and pink gold, its colour changes according to the light, giving it a warm appearance. The Manufacture’s trademark satin-finishing and polished chamfers on the bracelet and case accentuate the material’s chromatic variation. The timepiece is adorned with a Grande Tapisserie dial, subdials and inner bezel, all in the same sand gold shade, obtained by galvanic treatment. The 18-carat white gold hands and hour-markers with luminescent material add a touch of refinement, while the black calendar indications printed on the subdials and inner bezel provide a subtle contrast.

Audemars Piguet has achieved a significant milestone with the new Calibre 7138. This movement brings an innovation to the watchmaking world: a perpetual calendar that can be entirely set with just a crown. Those familiar with perpetual calendars understand the challenge—adjusting them typically demands a special tool and precise steps. With the Calibre 7138, AP has streamlined this process, offering a true breakthrough in ease and functionality.

The new crown features four positions. In the first, the watch is wound clockwise. Pulling the crown to the second position allows for setting the date clockwise and adjusting the month and leap year counterclockwise. The third position enables bidirectional time setting. Finally, pushing the crown back one step (position 2’) sets the day and week clockwise, while the moon phases are adjusted counterclockwise.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the new Calibre 7138 showcases exceptional craftsmanship. The openworked 22-carat pink gold oscillating weight and the barrel bridge, spanning from 12 to 3 o’clock, contrast elegantly with the rhodium-toned components. The movement is adorned with fine Haute Horlogerie finishes, including Côtes de Genève, satin brushing, circular graining, snailing, and chamfering.
